Maria grew up in the international environment of the United Nations, living in Congo, Guinea, India, Nepal, and the United States. She holds an MBA from Southampton University, UK.
Maria’s work focuses on creating participatory processes that invite people from all backgrounds to have conversations that matter. Maria designs gatherings, trainings, and longer-term initiatives that provide the opportunity for deep insight, systemic change and long-term impact. This is especially important at this time of world wide crisis where we need to fundamentally reframe our leadership, governance and actions in order to create new ways of living and working.
Maria’s practice of participatory leadership has been inspired by her diverse experience. She worked as a Corporate Director in Local Government in the UK, founded her own successful consulting company since 2002, co-initiated the Art of Hosting, a world wide network of participatory leadership which is being practiced in contexts such as the European Commission as well as in local social innovation initiatives. Maria is also a social entrepreneur hosting a rural place of learning with nature in Greece, Axladitsa-Avatakia and a co-founder of the Living Wholeness Institute action researching systemic change, particularly in places where deconstruction of the present system is taking place.
Ria was born, raised and still living in Belgium. She founded Vitis whose core purpose is to bring lasting transformation in individuals, organisations and society.
Her earlier work was in psychotherapy integrating the body in this process. Besides being a coach and mentor, who combines deep compassion, bodily awareness and a lust for life, Ria facilitates and hosts transformation in individuals and groups. She is a transformational change professional who has a rich background of experience and interests, also working with Systemic and Organizational Constellations, revealing the hidden dynamics in human systems and bringing them into flow again.
Her personal interest is in the field of Leadership and Consciousness and how this relates to Communities – in work and daily life. She worked first in the area of personal development, coaching and the social profit sector, and later with leadership for organizations and global systems. She is always fascinated by ‘What else is possible?’
Marjeta Novak has been working in the area of organisational, team and personal development since 2002, specialising in cultural competence and collaborative group processes. She loves those moments of magic when people reconnect with their deepest hopes for themselves, for one another, and for the greater whole – entering the sphere of possibility and power together. www.humus.si/en
“I
believe that a sustainable world is a place where people, society,
profit and government are aware of their value, power and responsibility
in connection with the world as a living system. From this perspective I
value taking responsibility, engaging oneself in the bigger picture and
entrepreneuring the (formerly percieved) improbable.
I commit my experience and skills to enable authentic leadership into action; with conversations that matter I
involve people in the societal challenges of our time. Together we
learn how to dig in to the collective intelligence, we share a passion
for learning and can go slow in order to go fast.”
